Learn The Different Types of BBL Shapes
The Brazilian Butt Lift, or the BBL, is one of the most popular forms of plastic surgery. A BBL works as a “two-for-one” procedure, because it adds both volume to the buttocks while also sculpting and trimming another part of the body. This procedure allows for a massive transformation.
However, you should know that not all BBL results are the exact same. There are a variety of different shapes and results. These results will depend on your personal goals. Dr. Giraldo will determine your BBL procedure by the type of shape that you naturally have, as well as the desired shape outcome.
If you are considering a Brazilian Butt Lift procedure, it’s a good idea to figure out what you ultimately want your butt to look like. This is where shape comes in. First, you need to figure out what your natural butt shape is, and from there you can start figuring out which shapes will work best with your natural proportions. Our guide to different types of BBL shapes and results is a great starting point.
What is your current shape?
Many people can have a successful Brazilian Butt Lift. Healthy people who want to create a pleasing contour with volume correction can opt for this procedure. Also, individuals who have experienced trauma, cosmetic surgeries, and surgeries in the buttock area may wish to have a Brazilian Butt Lift to improve any distortion.
Square or H-Shaped Butt
A square, or H-shape is similar to the V-shape, a bit flat. Also like the V-shape, those with a square butt tend to have a little bit of a fuller abdominal area. However, unlike the V-shape, a square butt tends to be less angular and has a boxier shape. This shape can be frustrating, because it can make it harder to find clothing that properly fits a larger abdominal area and still have it flatter your butt. Generally, if you have this square shaped butt, typically for this procedure Dr. Giraldo will use extra fat from your abdominal area and your sides. The most common outcome goal for a square shaped butt is normally the heart, or A-shape.
Inverted or V-Shaped Butt
A V-shaped butt doesn’t have a lot of volume in the lower area and is generally accompanied by a fuller abdominal area. Butts with this shape tend to be considered “flat”. If you have a V-shaped butt a BBL is a good option so you can fill your jeans and bring in more volume to your butt. Generally, the procedure for this shape will use some of the extra fat from the abdominal area or the thighs and will inject it into the butt. If you have an inverted shaped butt, a round or bubble shaped butt is normally the ideal surgical outcome.
Heart or A-Shaped Butt
A heart, or A-shaped bottom, is considered one of the more desirable types of butt shapes. If you have a naturally occurring A-shaped butt, you probably also have a traditional hourglass figure: small waist and wide hips. Many BBL candidates have the heart-shaped butt as their goal when thinking about their end results. However, plenty of those that have a natural heart shaped butt will still opt for a BBL to simply enhance what they were born with! This can make the results an even lusher butt than before!
Pick your dream shape!
Upon consult, our doctor can direct you on which shape will look the absolute best with your figure. There are many ways to determine your shape based on the exact surgery you have in reference to your entire body. If you are doing the entire "mommy makeover" and want to be slimmed in all areas, then picking the perfect shape to match your overall natural frame is going to give you the optimum results!
Now that we’ve gone over picking out and determining your butt shape before your BBL procedure, let’s look at what kinds of butt shapes can be achieved by a BBL. Be sure to ask Dr. Giraldo for input based on your own individual body type and medical history.
Heart Shape or A-Shaped BBL
If you are looking for a traditional hourglass silhouette, most people would often opt for the heart-shaped result with their BBL. A heart, or A-shaped result would give you gentle curves in your hips and leave you with plenty of volume in your butt.
Round, Bubble, O-Shaped BBL
A round, or O-shaped butt is a bit more of a dramatic compared to the heart-shape results. If you are thinking about the O-shaped as your final results you’re looking at having a noticeably round, bubble shaped end result (think Kim K or J-Lo).
Curvy Shaped BBL
A curvy shaped BBL is a combination of round and heart shaped, you get that beautiful hourglass shape with this BBL.
